Older generations often look at Gen Z and think, “Why do they stoke a desire for luxuries that they can’t afford?” Well, the answer is simple: whereas our parents wanted to keep up with their neighbors, young people now want to keep up with celebrities.
All it takes to understand this phenomenon is looking at a youngster’s social media feed. These people are constantly exposed to pictures of lavish holidays, designer outfits, and private jets! Isn’t it evident that they’ll crave all the high-spend things they see daily?
