One of the main attractions of cryptocurrencies was the lack of solid regulations. This meant that they could be traded much more freely and without a hedge fund or a bank acting as an intermediary. However, this also brought several headaches.
Any currency that isn’t adequately regulated is more vulnerable to the market’s whims. This means that its value goes up and down drastically. More regulations are sure to come, although there’s still much debate. After all, decentralization is a crucial tenet that should be safeguarded.
