Buying assets with your cash flow
First of all, an asset is anything that has economic value (current or future) to a business. Second of all, a measurement of the amount of cash that comes into your business and out of it in a particular period of time is called cash flow.

So, using operating cash to pay for long-term assets is a common mistake that can lead to a cash shortage. Instead, when deciding how to pay for large purchases like equipment, machinery, or major IT investments, consider using a business loan with a term corresponding to the asset’s lifespan.
