The Crawleys—Downton Abbey
We almost forgot about the Crawleys, who are perhaps today’s most popular wealthy family. Downton Abbey transports us to a time when rich people were content to simply be wealthy, supporting the local economy by hiring servants to wait on them hand and foot.
But if the show has taught us anything, it is that, sometimes, having plenty of money does not protect you from tragedy. The Crawleys have seen many tragic deaths over the years (though, to be fair, the majority were due to cast members wanting to leave).
